Where is Heaven?

Where is heaven? That’s a question that’s often asked not only by children, but also by adults.

The Bible very clearly teaches us that right now, heaven is like another realm, another dimension.

In Matthew 18:10, Jesus tells us: “For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.”

Angels are always seeing God’s face and they’re also serving God by serving us on this earth. And yet they’re always seeing the Father’s face. So, in Matthew 18, it gives us the impression that it’s another dimension.

When you die one day, as a Jesus follower, it’s not going to be a long trip for you to get to heaven. It’s like walking through a doorway – one moment you’re here, the next moment you’re home.

So again, the question: Where is heaven?

The answer? Right now, it’s another dimension.

Where will it be when Jesus comes again, that second and final time?

We know from 2 Peter that heaven becomes a physical place, with a new sky and a new earth. It becomes our home for eternity, where we have glorified bodies. So, heaven then goes from being a dimension to now a place where we enjoy our glorified bodies in the glory of our God.
