Giving Today to God
By Jenni Schubring, Director of Women’s Ministries
Let me start with the fact that I am not a goal setter. Please don’t ask me what my 3 year, 5 year, or especially what my 10 year goals are. I will not have an answer for you.
But I do make plans–plans for my day, plans for my family, plans for Women’s Ministry, plans for meeting up with my friends, plans for my date night with my husband, plans for…you get the picture.
Scripture says in Proverbs, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
But if I’m honest, I more often go with, “I will establish the plans, and then I will commit them to the LORD.” –
See the difference?
Isn’t it just like a loving God to say that He will establish your plans? To me, that brings on a sigh of relief.
He just asks me to keep my eyes on Him.
What does it look like to commit to the LORD whatever I do?
My daughter is home right now. She likes to leave messages on our bathroom mirror. Currently, it says, “I give this day to you, God.”
What does giving this day to God look like for you?
