Education Council Bios
Brett Dunnick brings his passion for Christian education to his service on the Education Council. Together with his wife Sarah, they have three children attending STMLS and are active parent volunteers.
As a Sales Representative at Stryker, Brett collaborates with surgeons in critical care settings, bringing this same attention to detail and strategic thinking to his role on the Education Council. He also demonstrates his heart for service through his work with St. John’s Ministries, sharing Christ’s love with Green Bay’s homeless community.
“What I love most about St Mark Lutheran School is the people who pour into it. Knowing that they deeply care for our children and are driven by their passion to grow our children both spiritually and academically is a blessing to our family.”
Brett welcomes conversations with STMLS families, believing that parent feedback and ideas are vital to the school’s continued success. He invites families to reach out and share their thoughts with the Council.
Sue Heimerl brings her dedication to STMLS and years of school involvement to her role on the Education Council. As a parent of three St. Mark graduates and an active church partner, she understands the lasting impact of Lutheran education.
In her professional role as the Senior Encounter Data Management Professional at Humana Pharmacy, Sue specializes in error detection, resolution, and prevention. This analytical expertise, combined with her extensive volunteer experience at school, provides a valuable perspective to the Council’s work.
“I believe that St. Mark prepares kids for life after 8th grade both academically and spiritually.”
Joel Hermann’s commitment to Christian education runs deep through his years of dedicated service to STMLS, including putting all five of his kids through the school. He brings a seasoned parent’s valued perspective to the Education Council.
As a Wealth Advisor at Thrivent Financial, Joel combines his professional financial expertise with extensive experience in Lutheran school leadership. His previous service includes roles on both the St. Mark Lutheran School Board and the Fox Valley Lutheran High School Board of Regents, providing him with comprehensive insight into Lutheran education at multiple levels.

Nicole Klee brings a deep appreciation for Lutheran education to her role on the Education Council. After moving to the Green Bay area, she and her family found their perfect church home at St. Mark Ministries, drawn by its welcoming spirit and strong school community.
With a background as a Physical Therapist Assistant and current role at Trustfall Tree Service while raising her family, Nicole understands the balance of professional expertise and family life. Her experiences add valuable perspective to the Council’s work.
“I love the smaller school size and getting to know faculty and families on a personal level. St. Mark was so welcoming to my kids and family when we joined. The parent involvement opportunities help families grow their faith together.”
When not serving the STMLS community, Nicole and her family enjoy God’s creation through outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and gardening, cherishing their time together in nature.
As a dedicated STMLS parent, Kurt Kuschel brings his strong commitment to our school community through his service on the Education Council. He and his wife are active school parents to their three daughters at STMLS.
In his professional life as Data Analytics Audit Manager at Associated Bank, Kurt brings valuable expertise in financial analysis, internal controls, and process improvement to the Council. His experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), combined with his service on various church and school committees, provides important insight to the Council’s strategic planning efforts.
Kurt recognizes the strong relationships that make STMLS so special: “I love the community that we have between parents, students, teachers, and staff.”
Ben Myers serves the STMLS community in multiple meaningful ways. He is a school parent, spouse to a school staff member, and a representative to the Education Council from the Ministry Governing Board (MGB). His multifaceted connection to St. Mark provides him with unique insight into the school’s mission and operations.
In his professional life as Assistant Vice President and Residential Loan Operations Supervisor at Associated Bank, Ben brings valuable leadership and operational expertise to his role. His experience in both business management and church leadership strengthens the Council’s strategic planning efforts.
“What makes St. Mark Lutheran School special is our Christ-focused education in a world that is moving farther and farther away from God.”
