Our first community service event is on October 29th 8:00-noon. It is making beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Parents and kids are welcome.
Location: Amerilux International
1212 Enterprise Drive Building #2
De Pere
>>Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. We have a chapter right in De Pere. Their mission is: NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!
>>Volunteers learn how to build bunk beds. They have a chance to learn how to use woodworking tools such as saws, drills, sanders, and hammers, and how to measure, level, and make true woodcuts. They learn how to sand and stain wood and event get to see how branding a bed works.
>>Age 12 and up can serve without a parent. (We do encourage a parent to attend, though). For anyone age 11, a parent needs to be present. They do not suggest kids under 11 attend, due to the use of power tools.
